The price of natural gas in Europe is down further in Monday trading after forecast milder weather cuts into demand, reports Bloomberg News.

Gas thus continues to decline in price after having decreased by 47% during December, at the end of month having fallen below the level from before Russia invaded Ukraine.

European weather has also been relative mild throughout much of Europe, thereby depleting the continent’s gas inventories less than otherwise. At the same time, the US media’s prognoses show forecast regional temperatures above average over the coming two weeks.

Monday morning’s month-ahead gas prices on the Title Transfer Facility exchange in Amsterdam are down by 6.3% to EUR 71.5 per MWh, Bloomberg writes.
