Russian President Vladimir Putin and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman had a talk over the phone Monday to discuss cooperation as part of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries’ affiliated alliance OPEC+ with the aim of ensuring oil price stability in the global oil market, reports Bloomberg citing a Kremlin statement.

The two political leaders discussed the OPEC+ alliance two days before the meeting of the cartel and allies, including Russia, and touched on the oil output policy.

Last week, delegates of the group were rumored to have said that they do not expect the committee to recommend any policy changes.

Putin and bin Salman also discussed bilateral cooperation on politics, trade, economy and energy, Bloomberg News reports.
