Oil company rejects political pressure prompting withdrawn application

BlueNord has no plans to apply for new licenses in the Danish part of the North Sea after the oil company withdrew on Monday.

Norwegian oil company BlueNord - formerly Noreco - will not be looking for new hydrocarbons in the Danish part of the North Sea after all. On Monday, the Danish Energy Agency announced that the Norwegian company had withdrawn its April application for a new concession in the southwestern part of the Danish shelf, where the Elly and Luke areas are estimated to hold 5.2 billion m3 of natural gas.
