Norway awards 62 oil licenses to 24 companies

The government has approved 29 licenses in the North Sea, 25 in the Norwegian Sea and 8 in the Barents Sea. They had announced 92 blocks and 25 firms applied.

The Norwegian government has granted 62 licenses for allocation in 92 predefined oil and gas areas (APA). 14 of them are in the Norwegian Sea, while 78 are in the Barents Sea. 25 companies have applied for licenses.
