Burmeister & Wain secures major African order

After a two year buildup, Danish power plant manufacturer Burmeister & Wain SC has secured a contract to construct a power plant in Mali. Similar orders are on the way, says the CEO.

Burmeister & Wain Scandinavian Contractor (BWSC) will install a 90 MW diesel-powered plant in Mali. The Danish power plant manufacturer has signed a contract worth DKK 675 million (EUR 90.8 million) for the project, which is equipped with six Caterpillar engines and will become the most effective power plant in the country with the potential to increase electricity capacity by a fourth.
