Minor players vying to enter Norwegian shelf

In recent years, smaller companies are increasingly those applying to become operators or license owners in fields on the Norwegian continental shelf, reports Norwegian media Sysla.

The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate is currently reviewing applications from companies looking to enter the Norwegian continental shelf as either field operators or license owners.

The eight applications currently under review by the directorate confirm the trend that largely minor companies have in recent years featured prominently in the application process, writes Sysla.
