The UK broke multiple green energy records in 2017

The share of renewable power in the UK's energy supply has never been as big as in 2017, but gas is still fundamental for the country's energy mix.

The UK set several energy records last year, according to data from the British grid operator National Grid.

And while the British people will have to wait a while longer to see how much of the total energy consumption in the UK was generated from renewable energy sources last year, it has already become clear that 2017 was an incredibly green year for the British Isles.
