Chinese battery manufacturer has taken up a leading position on the global market thanks to its exclusive access to the Democratic Republic of Congo's (DRC) large stockpiles of heavy metal cobalt. The material is an important component of lithium batteries, which are used in computers, smartphones and electric cars, reports Wall Street Journal.
