EU to demand climate agreement included in trade deals

Trade Commissioner Cecilia Malmström makes it clear that the EU will refuse to sign all future trade deals with countries, which have not ratified the Paris agreement. Including the TTIP agreement with the US.

On Dec. 8, the EU and Japan came to an agreement on an economic partnership agreement. The main message was that it would ease access to products including European pork, dairy products and wine on the Japanese market, while Japanese cars are set to more smoothly cross EU borders. However, for the first time in a trade agreement another element was made part of the agreement:
