EU will protect companies from US's secondary sanctions against Iran

European companies will be protected from sanctions the US is reimposing on Iran, writes the EU-commission.

The EU commission has initiated several procedures that will protect European companies and persons from US secondary sanctions aimed at Iran. The EU-Commission writes this in a press statement.

This occurs after the US decided to withdraw from the multilateral Joint Plan of Action (JPA) with Iran. The JPA secured the lifting of sanctions on Iran in exchange for Iran suspending its nuclear program.
