Seen from the exterior, Washington Hilton looks like any normal, up-scale hotel. If one goes downstairs into the basement, however, it is difficult to not be impressed with the hotel's gigantic conference hall, which most of all looks like something from Star Trek, with its white, vaulted ceiling, illuminated by cool, blue light effects. With space for around 2,200 guests, this is where the US energy industry has gathered to discuss the future. US Under Secretary of Energy Mark W. Menezes is the keynote speaker.
