Swedish nuclear reactor to draw last breath before New Year's

Before New Year's Eve, Ringhals 2 will definitively stop generating power, while its sister reactor Ringhals 1 is set to close in 2020. However, the political center-right is opposed and in the 11th hour attempts a new bill to sustain the aging reactors.

When the Swedes, with blood-shot eyes and aching limbs, turn on their coffee machines after what's assumed to become a joyful New Year's Eve, it'll be without an old friend powering it, as it leaves the country's energy mix when the 2010s end.
