Germany relaxes distance requirement

Going forward, German federal states may decide independently whether there should be a distance of one kilometer from a wind turbine to the nearest dwellings.

These days, many European countries are seeing political relaxations on corona restrictions. However, such are also seen in other areas, like the German federal government's much-criticized desire to implement a distance requirement of 1,000 meters from new and repowered wind turbines to the nearest cluster of more than four houses. Now, the government will let individual states decide whether to introduce this requirement, writes domestic newspaper Spiegel.
