Onshore wind and solar change subsidy model in Denmark

With Denmark's newly agreed-upon climate plan, the country's wind industry gets a long-held wish fulfilled. Rather than the price surcharges that ensured both the first decades of Danish wind build-out and during the latest two comprised the framework for the technology-neutral tenders, onshore wind turbines – similarly to solar and coastal offshore wind energy – will bid on contracts via a Contracts for Difference (CfD) model, according to the climate deal that a broad parliamentary majority agreed to Sunday night.
