China aims for climate neutrality by 2060

The country accounts for around a quarter of the world's total carbon emissions – more than the US and EU combined.

China – the world's largest emitter of CO2 – now sharpens its climate goals and aims to achieve climate neutrality by 2060, says Chinese President Xi Jinping in a televised speech in connection with the UN General Assembly.
