Belgium, Denmark sign MoU on connector

Preliminary studies begin on a new interconnector that may become part of the Danish North Sea energy isle, and which was previously set to connect with the Netherlands. The change will increase the price by over EUR 330 million.

As EnergyWatch has previously reported, Denmark and Belgium have taken the first steps toward binding the nations together via cable. Thursday, Danish energy minister Dan Jørgensen and Belgian counterpart Tinne Van der Straeten signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to initiate preliminary studies on the connector's technical and socio-economic viability.
