The pressure to invest green: They thought we were shrill crazy

Activist investor, researcher and NGO campaign coordinator Thomas Meinert Larsen, who has spent years of his spare time influencing green change among pension firms  from behind the scenes, tells of both triumphs and obstacles in urging institutional investors to invest green and divest fossil assets.

The first time the NGO Ansvarlig Fremtid made a proposal at an AGM at a Danish pension fund was in 2014. Since then, most pension companies in Denmark have gotten acquainted with the Danish NGO's main goal of ensuring more climate sustainable investments from the Danish pension funds.
