Germany supports hydrogen project with EUR 8bn

The German government forwards 62 large-scale hydrogen projects to pan-European initiative IPCEI. We aim to be number one within hydrogen, says economics minister.

At no point in time has Germany obscured its ambitions within green hydrogen. With its large automotive and heavy industry sectors as well as a goal to quit coal, the nation has indicated green hydrogen as the best potential alternative. Now the federal government allocates funds to the purpose, more precisely EUR 8bn.
