Japan's coming government should enact an energy policy to fully utilize nuclear power, says Eiji Hashimoto, chair of interest group Japan Iron and Steel Federation, in a press statement Friday.

Hashimoto also chairs the country's largest steelmaker, Nippon Steel Corp., which is planning to address major customers from abroad, including automotive manufacturers, in the hope of boosting prices on the metal.

Moreover, the company also urges amending a national ordinance for negotiating steel prices twice yearly – a scheme that normally entails fixing prices after product delivery.
