The Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) wins the federal election on Sunday with 25.7 percent of the votes, ahead of conservative sister parties the Christian Democratic Union of Germany/Christian Social Union in Bavaria (CDU/CSU), which settle for 24.1 percent.
