Norway's flagship hydro plant tapped as such in 2021
Norway has a unique electrical system almost wholly comprised of renewables, mainly hydroelectric and some wind power. Hydro accounts for roughly 90% of domestic generation, and unlike solar and wind, most of the nation’s hydro facilities can be adjusted for output. Hydro reservoirs enable system operators to dial up and down on production to match consumption.
