EU to implement emergency brake on gas exchange
In a proposal, the European Commission forwards the task of handling a new LNG price index to ACER. Meanwhile, new crisis interventions are meant to ”tame” gas prices via Dutch exchange TTF, says Commission president. However, the industry indicates that this new measure in practice is a price cap with a potentially limited effect.

BRUSSELS – The need to get control of the European Union’s runaway gas prices now requires new tools that can not only intervene in one of Europe’s most central gas exchanges, the Title Transfer Facility (TTF) in the Netherlands.
