IEA downgrades guidance for Europe's electricity consumption

Electricity consumption in Europe is falling for the second year in a row, witnessing the biggest drop in demand in over 20 years. The IEA expects consumption to pick up again in 2024.

The hangover from a dramatic 2022, when energy prices exploded and an economic downturn hit several parts of the world, will drag on into 2023 when it comes to global electricity consumption.
