EU considers extension of central exemption scheme for energy projects

In a new proposal, the European Commission opens up for schemes that allow energy projects to be exempted from environmental approvals. This would send a ”strong signal to the industry”.

BRUSSELS - The continued pressure on the EU’s energy supply and the possible backlog of wind energy deployment in Europe could effectively mean that nature conservation may have to give way to new energy projects for a longer period of time.
