NVE: Kinect incident shows that market error could have huge consequences

However, senior engineer says Nord Pool’s failure to register the error message from Kinect is not a breach of the rules on safety and emergency preparedness in the electricity supply sector.

On Friday, Dec. 1, RME, the Norwegian Energy Regulatory Authority, sent a letter to Nord Pool, asking the pan-European power exchange to explain what they did in connection with allowing the erroneous bid in the Finnish price area, what routines they have in place and what measures they can implement.
