Energinet wants steel structure for North Sea energy island

A new proposal for a cheaper model for the energy island in the North Sea has now been put forward after several postponements of the tender.
”We have presented a proposal, which is a platform construction known from oil and gas drilling rigs, where you place the electrical equipment on top. It works completely as if it were on an island,” says Hanne Storm Edlefsen, Energinet's deputy director. | Photo: Pr Energinet

Energinet is now ready with a new proposal for how to build the energy island in the North Sea after the first proposal for an artificial concrete island was rejected by Danish Energy Minister Lars Aagaard this summer, writes Børsen.
