Siemens lands huge British/French order

German industry conglomerate Siemens has secured an order worth EUR 315 million to connect the French and British electricity systems closer together by an additional gigawatt.

Going forward, not only trains and cars will rush through the Eurotunnel between France and the UK. 1,000 MW of electricity will also utilize the tunnel using interconnector ElecLink, which has awarded an order to Siemens.
