
Going forward, not only trains and cars will rush through the Eurotunnel between France and the UK. 1,000 MW of electricity will also utilize the tunnel using interconnector ElecLink, which has awarded an order to Siemens.
The German industry conglomerate will supply the two HVDC (high-voltage direct current) transformer stations in an order worth EUR 315 million, states Siemens.
