EU lowers price on Chinese solar modules by 35 percent
After years of conflict concerning price dumping, the EU's solar panel war against China is being revised with announcements of price declines. Meanwhile, the US is taking the opposite route and considering measures, which analysts say could cancel more than 20 GW solar power.
The EU is lowering the minimum price on Chinese solar panels, taking effect from Oct 1. The reduction is being carried out after an interim review of the development of reference prices on solar panels and modules and is being implemented in recognition of the declining production prices on solar power plants. The EU will gradually lower the price further until July 1 next year, according to the implementing regulation.
