Danish wind manufacturer Vestas is unhappy with the deal concerning subsidies to wind and solar over the coming two years, which was reached between the Danish government and the Danish People's Party Tuesday. Vestas says the deal does not move the industry in a positive direction, pointing to both the system for the two technology neutral tenders slated for 2018 and 2019 – expected to yield 190 MW in expansion – and the worsened conditions for test turbines under the deal.
"Both with reference to volumes and test turbines, it's a disappointing result. We're looking at a few years with significantly lower construction than we've been used to, and with some schemes concerning test turbines, that leave Denmark worse-off than say, Germany," says Morten Dyrholm, Group Senior Vice President for Marketing, Communications, and Public Affairs at Vestas.
