New York to auction off at least 800 MW

The Governor of New York State plans to auction off at least 800 MW over the next two years.

New York State has big ambitions in offshore wind and Governor Andrew Cuomo is now urging the preparation of 800 MW to be tendered off in two auctions this year and in 2019, reports Recharge.

This will be followed by a "set schedule" to reach the 2030 target of 2.4 GW offshore wind, which the governor believes will incite competition between developers for the construction of the largest projects in the US.
