Wind boost set a European record

Ahead of the new tender regime, both onshore and offshore saw more wind installed in 2017 than ever before. Seven EU countries set records.

Last year, 15,680 MW of wind were installed in Europe. This is a fifth more than the year prior, and while the increase in offshore was the largest, where the year's recently added capacity of 3,154 MW was twice as high as in 2016, more MW were also installed on land.
