Brazil gets close to 1,000 bids in wind tender

Optimism has returned to the Brazilian market where projects with a total capacity of 27 GW have been submitted as bids in the latest tender.

After several years of sluggish demand and installation, interest in Brazil's wind market remains intact. In the country's second tender this year – the third since 2015, after the cancellation of planned tenders – 926 bids have been placed totaling 27,056 MW. Wind represents the vast majority of the bids in the tender, which also covers other energy technologies, while measured by capacity wind is almost half the contributions.
