Siemens Gamesa boosts turbines on Ørsted wind farm

Ørsted can now slash eight turbines from the world's largest wind turbine project, because supplier Siemens Gamesa will provide its latest, optimized turbine packed with more MW.

Originally, Hornsea 2 was slated to consist of up to 300 turbines. That number was reduced in February, however, when Ørsted nominated Siemems Gamesa's 8.0-167 DD turbines for the 1,386 MW project in the UK.
