Authorities in New York open up to tenders from other states' areas in its upcoming offshore wind tender, which may become larger than expected.
The US' offshore wind industry is picking up the pace. Maryland got a head start last year when the state approved two projects, but now several more states are following suit. Over the past few months, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut have awarded projects totalling 1,400 MW. But the year is far from over.
