MHI Vestas pushes limits with floating turbines in Portugal

In an historic deal, MHI Vestas has decided to supply offshore wind turbines for installation atop floating platforms. The selected turbine model will be the largest unit to date to be fixed upon the floating technology.

Danish-Japanese joint venture MHI Vestas will be supplying turbines to what will become the highest capacity-rated floating offshore wind farm in the world. The project, WindFloat Atlantic, has selected the manufacturer as turbine supplier for the development located in the Atlantic Ocean off the northern coast of Portugal.
