Wood Mackenzie: The V164 could become even larger

Wood Mackenzie is confident that MHI Vestas will be able to further upgrade its V164 wind turbine — up to as much as 11 or 12 MW, the analyst firm evaluates.

MHI Vestas has upgraded the capacity rating of its V164 wind turbine four times – from 7 to 10 MW – and that can be turned up even higher, according to Wood Mackenzie senior analyst for wind energy Shasli Barla.
