Siemens Gamesa: It's not a matter of being the first to reach two digits

The German-Spanish wind turbine manufacturer says it is not a matter of being the first player to achieve a two-digit turbine. "We could have done that earlier, if we wanted to," says the CEO.

MHI Vestas has broken records by launching an offshore wind turbine with a two-digit MW capacity this week. Its latest update of the V'164 model has been upgraded to 10 MW.

However, CEO Marcus Tacke of offshore wind market leader Siemens Gamesa, feels that advancing within wind is about more than capacity.
