UK confirms plans for new offshore wind sites

A new offshore wind site allocation model, in which developers themselves identify preferred locations within a large section of seabed, is receiving support in the UK.

Offshore wind energy developers will soon be able to bid for rights to develop new sites in the UK, with a new round for allocating leasing sites will start from the beginning of next year.
