UK energy storage gets massive boost

Energy storage projects totaling approximately 7 GW are currently underway, show new figures from Renewable UK.

In 2012, energy storage facilities in the UK amounted to merely 2 MW. Six years later, the figure shows explosive growth. According to interest group Renewable UK, energy storage projects involving batteries at a total capacity of 6.87 GW are underway, reports both Renews and Recharge.
