Shell invests in French offshore wind

New consortium Moulins de Flandre is challenging oil colleague Equinor in a new French offshore wind tender announced ahead of the launch of the country's energy plan for the next decade.

At the end of 2016, Shell entered the offshore wind industry with flying colours. After the wind bid on Dutch Borselle 3 & 4, made under the Blauwwind consortium with Eneco and Van Oord and DGE, the oil company was proactive in its ambitions within renewables. Since then, things have been relatively slow for the British / Dutch supermajor, which has not won further projects.
