Vestas usurped from first place in the US

Vestas has not succeeded in maintaining its leading position for the third consecutive year. After having been the largest wind turbine manufacturer measured in installed capacity in both 2016 and 2017, General Electric (GE) reclaimed the throne last year by installing 3.01 GW in the US market. That corresponds to roughly 40 percent of the total 7,588 MW of installed onshore wind capacity, while Vestas' 2.88 GW amounts to a 38 percent share, show figures from American Wind Energy Association (AWEA).
