Vestas' chair expects subsidy scheme reintroduction in certain countries
It will take some time before state-subsidized wind power disappears entirely, Vestas Chair Bert Nordberg tells Reuters, pointing out that pressure to rapidly expand renewable capacity pulls in the other direction. Subsidy, however, should be interpreted in a broad sense, Vestas says.
Onshore wind has shown several instances of remarkable progress during the last half year. Zero-subsidy wind farms have been announced during this period, first in Sweden and Finland, then in Denmark and the UK – and several of these will deploy Vestas' wind turbines.
