Equinor confirms interest in Norwegian floating offshore wind

The North Sea is perfect for floating offshore wind, but it will not happen without major state aid, says Equinor's CEO.

It will require political will and a collection of subsidy schemes, if Norway's politicians want to see an offshore wind sector boom along the country's coastline. And under the right conditions, Norwegian state-owned oil major Equinor is interested, says Group Chief Executive Eldar Sætre to Norwegian daily Aftenbladet, report several domestic media.
