Vestas sells 106 large wind turbines

The wind turbine manufacturer receives its hitherto largest order from Brazil – for almost a half gigawatt.

Just three weeks ago, Vestas reported sales of its largest model, the V150-4.2 MW, surpassing 1 GW in Brazil. Now the company can celebrate selling more than 1.5 GW. The largest South American order to date – 455 MW – just ticked in Tuesday morning. Developer Casa dos Ventos has ordered 106 machines for its Rio do Vento project in the northeastern federal state of Rio Grande do Norte, Vestas informs in a statement.
