An odd structure is now waiting at the Port of Saint-Nazaire. GE has completed the first nacelle for its offshore wind turbine model Haliade-X, initially rated for 12 MW, at its factory in France. However, there is still no foundation under the structure, which in the coming weeks will be carted off to Rotterdam, where it will play the protagonist in the prototype testing of the world's hitherto largest offshore wind turbine, informs GE in a statement.
