Vestas reclaims US leadership

With more than 40 GW being established or in advanced development stages, Siemens Gamesa and Nordex are pressuring the US duopoly. Vestas is headed for a clear leading role this year, however.

Zooming in closely on the US market, Vestas is in a very strong position. With 704 MW of the total 736 MW installed in the US during Q2, the Danish OEM thus has a current market share close to 100 percent, while the remaining 32 MW was installed by General Electric, according to the latest interim report from the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA).
