Ørsted project of half a gigawatt snubbed

While seven projects totaling 2.85 GW are sent skyward with approved plans, Ørsted's 573 MW expansion of Race Bank is clipped.

Offshore wind projects totaling 2.85 GW are one step closer to participation in the coming British Contracts for Difference (CfD) tenders. After completing Habitats Regulations Assessments (HRAs) of eight expansion projects for existing offshore wind farms, the British Crown Estate, owner of the domestic seabed, has approved seven projects for the next stage. These are thus ready to be allotted pieces of seabed on which site-specific Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) may be initiated.
