Siemens Gamesa sacks 600 workers in Denmark

The German-Spanish wind OEM is firing up to 600 employees in Denmark in connection with its shift from direct-drive to geared onshore wind technology. Meanwhile, the company is poised to phase out its onshore division in Brande, Denmark.

Siemens Gamesa fires up to 600 personnel in Denmark, corresponding to one in ten worker in the country, the company informs in a statement Thursday afternoon.
