GE installs turbines on Vestas turf

The US wind turbine maker's large Cypress platform debuts in Brazil in a project developed by a competitor's development subsidiary.

The Cypress is spreading to another continent. General Electric announces its first order for its new 158-5.3MW platform in Brazil, where EDF Renewables has ordered 25 turbines for a project in the state of Bahia. After the wind turbines enter operation, which is expected to happen no later than early 2024, the US wind OEM will handle service over a 20-year period, GE announces.
