Siemens Gamesa wants to lead the US offshore wind market

There's a high probability that most of the material for projects Siemens Gamesa come to execute in the coming years will be manufactured in Europe, says the turbine maker's North American offshore wind director.

Even though the US offshore wind market is still in an early phase, competition has from the very beginning proven tough, both for developers and wind OEMs. Thus far, MHI Vestas, GE Renewable Energy and Siemens Gamesa have won orders for offshore wind turbines from the country.
